Biography

Actor Zdeněk Kupka, born in 1971, entered the theater scene in the early 1990s. Since then, he has had a varied theatrical career. His stints have included the Slovácké Theatre in Uherské Hradiště, the Municipal Theatre in Karlovy Vary, the South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice, the DFXŠ in Liberec and the Pod Palmovkou Theatre in Prague. His wide theatrical range has allowed him to portray mostly large and leading roles in the world repertoire. For example, Malvolio in Twelfth Night directed by Otto Ševčík, Trigorin in The Seagull directed by Sergej Fedotov, Giles in The Mousetrap, Joe in Some Like It Hot, John Proctor in The Salem Witches directed by Janusz Klimszy, Martin in the play Fuk directed by Petr Zelenka, Priest Bartholomew in The Decameron at the Revolving Auditorium in Český Krumlov directed by Martin Glaser, the Beast in Beauty and the Beast in Krumlov, Khlestakov in The Inspector General directed by Ivan Krejčí, Stavros in Testosterone directed by Michal Lang, Lenny in The Mighty Aphrodite directed by Vojta Štěpánek, King Bertie in The King's Speech directed by Kateřina Dušková, King Arthur in the musical Monty Python's Spamalot, the Lord in the play James and his Master, Poirot in Murder on the Orient Express, Adolf Hitler in Here He Comes Again, Antonín Skopec in Světáci, Lord Fancourt Babberley in Charley's Aunt. Zdeněk is also involved in radio work. He has many audiobooks, lots of radio stories and dramatizations and hundreds of television and radio commercials to his credit.
